Bishkek – Burana - Chon Kemin- Karakol - Jety-Oguz – Bokonbaevo – Kochkor- Son-Kul - Bishkek
Day 1: Welcome to the vibrant city of Bishkek! Upon arrival, our friendly driver will greet you and transfer you to your comfortable hotel. After settling in, meet your knowledgeable guide for an insightful sightseeing tour of the Kyrgyz capital. Explore iconic landmarks such as the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic, the majestic Statue of Manas, the tranquil Oak Park, the bustling Ala-Too Square, the grand Victory Square, the captivating Museum of Fine Arts, and the lively Osh Bazaar. After an eventful day, relax in the cozy surroundings of your hotel.
Day 2: Bishkek to Chon-Kemin via Burana Tower complex.
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before departing from Bishkek. Your first stop is the Burana Tower complex, a 12th-century monument and remnant of the ancient city of Balasagun. Climb the tower for panoramic views and enjoy traditional Kyrgyz music performances. For lunch, experience authentic Kyrgyz hospitality by dining with a local family. Later, transfer to Chon-Kemin National Park. Spend the evening in a charming guesthouse, enjoying a home-cooked dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.
Day 3: Chon-Kemin to Karakol via Cholpon-Ata
After breakfast, journey to Karakol, stopping en route at Cholpon-Ata to visit the open-air museum of petroglyphs. These ancient carvings, dating back to 500 BC–100 AD, depict animals, hunting scenes, and cultural symbols. Learn more about the region's history at the Museum of Local Lore. Upon reaching Karakol, take a city tour to explore the Prjevalsky Museum, the Wooden Orthodox Church, and the Dungan Mosque, showcasing Chinese architectural influences. In the evening, savor a traditional Dungan dinner with a local family before retiring to a cozy guesthouse.
Day 4: Karakol to Kochkor via Jety-Oguz and Bokonbaevo
Travel along the scenic southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, stopping at Jety-Oguz Gorge. Hear the legend of the "Seven Bulls" and admire the striking Broken Heart rock. After lunch, head to Bokonbaevo to witness an impressive eagle hunting demonstration, an ancient Kyrgyz tradition. Continue your drive to Kochkor, where a welcoming Kyrgyz family will host you for dinner and provide accommodation in their guesthouse.
Day 5: Kochkor to Son-Kul Lake
Start your day with breakfast before visiting a felt carpet workshop in Kochkor. Watch artisans craft Kyrgyz national felt carpets and learn about this intricate tradition. Then, journey to Son-Kul Lake, located at an altitude of 3,015 meters. Immerse yourself in the nomadic lifestyle by horseback riding and observing local women prepare "Kymyz," a traditional fermented mare's milk drink. Day 6: Son-Kul to Bishkek
As dawn breaks over the serene landscapes, start your day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on an exhilarating horse-riding adventure. After the ride, savor a delicious lunch in the cozy atmosphere of a yurt camp. With cherished memories of Son-Kul in your heart, it's time to bid farewell to this tranquil haven and embark on the 290-kilometer journey back to Bishkek. Upon arrival, celebrate your unforgettable trip with a farewell dinner featuring the rich flavors of traditional Kyrgyz cuisine and the vibrant energy of captivating national dances.
